Element Arts Company are an all Latin Dance Company who perform and teach traditional Afro-Latin dances in the UK and further afield. They are also interested in combining Latin folkloric and Latin street dances with urban dances like Hip Hop and Waacking. Established by Ella Mesma in 2005, the company is now directed by Hannah Bertram.
From Brazilian Samba with a touch of funk or Cuban rumba with a touch of breaking… Element Arts bring fun, retro, and unusual twist to the party!

Company History & Accolades
Created in Leeds in 2005, the company have been all over the wold teaching and performing. Performances and Masterclasses have taken Element Arts to the USA (Boston and NYC), India (Chennai, Mombai, New Delhi), Cuba (Havana), Europe: UK, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Serbia, Sweden, Croatia and Finland.
In 2007, the Company won ‘Best Show’ for ‘Andar La Gata’ at the European Salsa Champions at Salsa UK. The Company have been finalists in 2014 and 2015 for Best Brazilian Teacher and Company with the Latin Lukas awards. In 2013, the Company director established a Latin Dance Theatre festival ‘Roots of Rumba which she continues to curate and tour.
Element Arts have performed on Strictly Come Dancing, T4 (Channel 4) and have featured in music videos for TY, Franz Ferdinand, Submotion Orchestra, and performed for artists such as Major Lazer, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Drummagik, Heatwave. The Company have performed at Birmingham NEC, Trafalgar Square (National Peace Week), Royal Armories (Leeds), O2 Arena (London Latin Festival), Mambo City, Floridita, Scala and Big Dance to name a few. Clients have included Redbull, Sagatiba, Havana Club, Sadler’s Wells, O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium, HBOS and many more…
